We are proud to announce that Education Ignited’s Dr. Kelly Van Sande will be speaking at the 2024 Emerging School Models Conference at the Harvard Kennedy School on September 12-13.
Hosted by the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard University, this event will explore how innovative educational models—such as emerging charter schools, online schools, specialized schools, micro-schools, career and technical programs, and different forms of homeschooling—are expanding nationwide. Dr. Van Sande will contribute to discussions on the sustainability and infrastructure needed to maintain this momentum. It promises to be a transformative event, and we look forward to participating in these important conversations. Ignite Learning Academy Featured on Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid
Education Ignited, along with Ignite Education Group, was featured on Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid beginning August 2024 and will continually air throughout the following year.
Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid first reached out to Dr. Van Sande in spring 2024 after learning of the success demonstrated by the students in Ignite Learning Academy's FIRE program. This program serves students with mild to severe special needs in a self-contained online special education environment and is the only program of its kind. Students in this program are making tremendous academic gains and there is 100% parent satisfaction with the program, educators, curriculum, and success of their children.
Throughout conversations with Dr. Van Sande, the show's producers learned about Ignite Achievement Academy in Charlotte, NC. These schools, located in the Charlotte area, serve students with special needs and those who learn differently, by placing 4-6 students in a classroom with an experienced teacher, and aided by a teacher assistant or Speech Language Pathologist, and provide customized instruction directly aligned to the students' academic, social, and life goals. In addition to academic curriculum, students also engage in cooking, woodshop, PE, music, art, and gardening throughout the week.
Education Ignited seeks to come alongside parents, schools, therapists, and community service providers to provide resources - both physical and monetary - to ensure all children and adolescents have the tools and resources needed to thrive.
